Connecting people through Portuguese food

At Almareada Food Tours, we believe food goes beyond mere sustenance; it resonates with our souls, acting as a universal language of expression and connection.

Why Food Matters in Travel

Food is a significant part of any culture, and our most cherished travel memories often involve savoring local dishes and meeting new people. Our food tours in the Algarve provide the ideal platform to create these meaningful connections in an authentic and enriching environment.

Who we are

ALMAREADA FOOD TOURS was born out of an idea from the founder during lockdown in 2020. Isabel is the founder and guide of our tours.

She was born and raised in Algarve and has always shared a love for food and people. She spent her childhood in Portimão where she ate local Portuguese food, so she has become quite the connoisseur of what Portimão has the best to offer.

In her free time, you’ll find her planning her next trip, at the beach and socializing with friends and family over food!

Our Mission and Values

We prioritize authenticity in all aspects of the tour experience, from the selection of dishes to the storytelling about local culinary traditions.

Authenticity

Integrity

We operate with honesty and transparency in all business dealings. Our tours will be like going out for a meal with a friend.

Sustainability

We will go to local owned restaurants that represent the essence of Portimão where you’ll eat seasonal dishes with local ingredients.

Respect for each other

Our food tours are a safe space and no discrimination will be allowed. Our tours have a welcoming and inclusive environment where people from all backgrounds feel valued and respected. We will do our best to accommodate any disabilities and dietary requirements.

Cultural Preservation

In eating at locally owned restaurants, we’re keeping our traditions alive. Food is deeply intertwined with identity and heritage.

We can’t wait to meet you
